When it comes to artiste branding, it’s all about perspective. From the consumers’ perspective, an artiste’s brand is what they perceive and how they connect with the artiste. It’s the artiste’s identity, and it’s what sets them apart from other artistes.
As an artiste, when you think about branding, a logo is not the first thing that springs to mind for a consumer of your music. While a logo is an important aspect of your brand, it is the least of your concerns. What your consumer cares about is how you make them feel. Your consumers are the most significant aspect of your brand. Consumers have a significant impact on the artiste's brand’s future. Consumers will only spend as much as the value you give them.
Perhaps your table ticket is $1500. Will I get good value for my money? or will I just sit and sip juice and munch on peanuts?
When you’re on stage, nothing else matters except for that stage.
Every time you’re on stage, you have the opportunity to reaffirm to your consumers that you will always provide quality performance. That is how you build trust with your consumers. The way you interact with the audience, manage your stage, direct your live band, and handle the microphone are all aspects of your artistic branding.
Every aspect of this speaks volumes to the fans that watch you perform live on stage. Fans want to feel like they know the artiste, and that they can relate to them. They want to feel like they are part of the artiste’s journey. When an artiste has a strong brand, it creates a connection with the fans that is so special and unique.
It’s no surprise that @adekunlegold has repeatedly proven that he is the Greatest Showman. If you agree with me, it’s clear from his recent concerts. As well as @limoblaze_ , @johnnydrille , and a few other artistes.
It takes time and effort to build a strong brand, but it can be so rewarding for both the artiste and the fans.
As a music consumer, what do you think artiste should do to improve their branding?
